Mississippi has four dental routes, not one. Fee-for-service Mississippi Medicaid runs through the state system at portal.ms-medicaid-mesa.com, and the three MississippiCAN plans each hand their dental benefit to a different company: Envolve for Magnolia, SKYGEN for Molina, Avesis for TrueCare. Not two of them share an administrator. pwp.envolvedental.com and myavesis.com are the two plan addresses in the directory, and all three of those hostnames resolved when we looked them up in the Domain Name System on 10 September 2026.
The mixed model is the thing you cannot work out by looking
Most states are one shape or the other. Either the state carves dental out to a single manager and the card is irrelevant, or dental sits inside managed care and you follow the plan. Mississippi is both at once — a live fee-for-service line and three plans that route three different ways.
So the first question is not "what is the Mississippi Medicaid dental portal", it is which of the four the patient is on. Get that wrong and the answer you get back is not an error message pointing at the right door; it is "no coverage found", which is the same thing an uninsured patient produces. That is how a covered member gets told to self-pay.
Three plans, three administrators — and only two addresses published
The directory names login addresses for the state system, for Envolve and for Avesis. It names no address for the Molina route to SKYGEN. SKYGEN's provider portal appears elsewhere in the directory, for other states, as pwp.skygenusasystems.com, and that hostname did resolve on 10 September 2026 — but a hostname taken from another state's row is not evidence about Mississippi. Ring the plan, ask which address you verify Mississippi members at, and keep the answer.
Two of these run on the same platform and are still two logins
One thing DNS does tell you: on 10 September 2026, the chain behind pwp.envolvedental.com ended at a hostname under skygenusasystems.com, and so did the chain behind SKYGEN's own pwp.skygenusasystems.com. They returned different addresses at the end of it.
The practical point is a warning, not a shortcut. Two portals that share a platform look and behave alike, which invites the assumption that one set of credentials opens both. Nothing we checked says it does. Enrol and keep credentials per administrator, and treat a login that "should work" on the other portal as a coincidence of appearance.
Where you actually log in
| Route | Address | Checked |
|---|---|---|
| Mississippi Medicaid fee-for-service | portal.ms-medicaid-mesa.com | 10 September 2026 |
| Magnolia, administered by Envolve | pwp.envolvedental.com | 10 September 2026 |
| TrueCare, administered by Avesis | myavesis.com | 10 September 2026 |
| Molina, administered by SKYGEN | no address published in the directory — ask the plan | 10 September 2026 |
Each of those three hostnames was put through a DNS lookup on 10 September 2026 and returned an address. That is what we verified and the limit of it. We did not sign in, and we make no claim that any of them was reachable from a given network — state and payer portals often refuse traffic that does not come from an ordinary practice connection, so a failure elsewhere says nothing about the portal.
What to do
- Establish fee-for-service or MississippiCAN first, then which of the three plans. That single question decides everything downstream.
- Keep three separate sets of credentials — Envolve, SKYGEN and Avesis — and do not let a shared-looking screen persuade you that one login covers two.
- Record the administrator against the plan in your practice management system. A note filed under "Mississippi Medicaid" is right for one of four patients.
- For a Molina member, ring the plan for the verification address rather than typing a SKYGEN hostname you found on another state's page.
- Treat "no coverage found" as a routing symptom until you have confirmed you were on the right portal for that member's plan.
The state-by-state directory has the same answer for 48 states and the District of Columbia, each hostname re-checked on the same date.
