For Healthy Louisiana and LaCHIP dental, the login is providers.dentaquest.com or portal.mcna.net — not the state's own lamedicaid.com. Dental is carved out statewide to two benefit managers, and which of the two holds your patient is decided by the Healthy Louisiana plan on their card.
Two managers is the whole difficulty
Most carve-out states have one benefit manager. When there is one, the portal question is answered once and written on a sticky note. Louisiana has two, which turns every verification into a two-step: read the plan on the card first, then go to that plan's dental manager, then log in. Skip the first step and you have a fifty-fifty chance of searching a member ID in a system that has never heard of them — and a "member not found" screen in the wrong portal looks exactly like no coverage.
The second trap is the state site. lamedicaid.com is a real Louisiana Medicaid address and it resolved in DNS on 10 September 2026, but the dental benefit does not sit there. An office that starts at the state portal because it is the name they know spends the call in a system that cannot answer the question.
Which manager holds which plan
This is the piece a directory cannot settle for you, and pretending otherwise would be worse than saying so. The public record we checked names both managers for Louisiana but does not map each Healthy Louisiana plan to one of them. Plan-to-manager assignments are exactly the thing that moves at contract renewal, so a list copied from a forum post is a liability rather than a shortcut.
Get it from the plan. Ring the number on the patient's card and ask one question — who administers the dental benefit — and write the answer down against the plan, not against Louisiana.
Where you actually log in
| What | Address | Checked |
|---|---|---|
| Louisiana Medicaid state system | lamedicaid.com — does not carry the dental benefit | 10 September 2026 |
| DentaQuest provider portal | providers.dentaquest.com | 10 September 2026 |
| MCNA provider portal | portal.mcna.net | 10 September 2026 |
Each of the three hostnames was put through a Domain Name System lookup on 10 September 2026 and returned an address. That is what we verified and the limit of it. We did not attempt to sign in, and we make no claim about whether any of them was reachable from a particular network at a particular moment — several payer and state portals refuse traffic that does not look like an ordinary browser, so a failure from one office's connection proves nothing about the portal.
What to do
- Read the Healthy Louisiana plan on the card before you open a portal. The plan picks the manager; the state does not.
- Bookmark both providers.dentaquest.com and portal.mcna.net. You will need both in Louisiana, whichever one you use more often.
- Record the dental manager against the plan in your practice management system, not against "Louisiana Medicaid", so the next person does not re-derive it.
- Treat "member not found" in one of the two portals as a routing answer, not a coverage answer, and try the other before you tell a patient they are uncovered.
- If nobody in the office knows which manager a plan uses, ring the plan and get it in writing. It is a five-minute call that stops repeating itself.
