There is no single Illinois Medicaid dental login. Fee-for-service dental — the HFS Dental and All Kids side — runs through DentaQuest. HealthChoice Illinois managed-care plans split their dental across four administrators: DentaQuest, Avesis, Envolve and SKYGEN. Which one you use is a property of the patient's plan, not of the state, and the state system at impact.illinois.gov will not settle a dental question for a managed-care member.
Four administrators, and two of the routes are not published
This is the fact that costs Illinois offices time. A biller who has learned "Illinois dental is DentaQuest" is right for fee-for-service and wrong for an unknown share of HealthChoice Illinois members, and the way it fails is the expensive way: the patient comes back looking uncovered rather than throwing an error you would investigate.
Two of the four routes have a published address a directory can print. DentaQuest is at providers.dentaquest.com and Envolve is at pwp.envolvedental.com. For the Avesis and SKYGEN routes, there is no Illinois provider portal address we could verify, so we are not printing one. Ring the plan and ask for its dental provider portal address, then write it down. Do not borrow an address another state uses for the same company — a benefit manager can run different systems for different state contracts, and typing a working address for the wrong contract puts you in a system that has never heard of your patient.
That gap is a real hole in the public record rather than a formatting problem, and guessing at it is how an office ends up filing a clean claim into the wrong company's system.
The Envolve address lands on SKYGEN's infrastructure
One thing our lookups on 10 September 2026 showed that is worth stating carefully. pwp.envolvedental.com does not resolve directly. It points to portal.envolvedental.com, which points to a host named pw-es-pr01-in.gtm.skygenusasystems.com, which finally returns an address.
Read that narrowly. It tells you the Envolve provider portal is served on infrastructure carrying a SKYGEN name; it does not tell you the Envolve and SKYGEN routes are the same portal, share a login, or can be used interchangeably, and we make no such claim. The practical point is the opposite one: seeing a SKYGEN name in the address bar after you sign in at the Envolve address is not evidence you are in the wrong place, and it is not a reason to go looking for a different login. Use the address the patient's plan gives you and ignore what the underlying host is called.

Each printed hostname was put through a Domain Name System lookup on 10 September 2026 and returned an address. That is what we verified and the limit of it. We did not sign in to any of them, and we make no claim about whether any was reachable from a particular office network at a particular moment — several state and payer systems refuse traffic that does not look like an ordinary browser, so a failure at your desk is not something this check can speak to.
What to do
- Establish first whether the patient is fee-for-service — HFS Dental or All Kids — or in a HealthChoice Illinois plan. That decides everything else.
- For fee-for-service, go to DentaQuest. For a managed-care member, find the plan's dental administrator before you open any portal.
- Where the plan's administrator is Avesis or SKYGEN, ring the plan for its Illinois dental provider portal address rather than reusing one from another state.
- Record the portal against the plan, not against "Illinois Medicaid". A note filed under the state sends the next person to one of the other three routes.
- Do not take an uncovered result from the wrong administrator at face value. In a four-way state, "no coverage" and "wrong system" look identical on screen.
