Which Florida Medicaid dental portal do I use — DentaQuest, LIBERTY or MCNA?

Florida has three dental logins in live use and the one you need depends on the patient's programme, not on the state. Since 1 February 2025 the statewide dental benefit under Statewide Medicaid Managed Care has run through DentaQuest and LIBERTY Dental Plan. The fact offices get wrong is what happened to the third name.

MCNA did not leave Florida

The 2025 change is usually described in one line — dental went to DentaQuest and LIBERTY — and an office that hears only that line concludes MCNA is finished in the state and stops using it. It is not finished. MCNA keeps Florida Healthy Kids and CHIP, so for those children the login is still MCNA's and nothing about the 2025 statewide change touches them.

That is the expensive mistake here, and it runs in both directions. A Healthy Kids patient verified against a statewide dental administrator comes back looking uncovered. A Statewide Medicaid Managed Care patient checked in MCNA out of habit comes back the same way. In both cases the coverage exists and the office looked in the wrong system, which reads exactly like a patient with no benefit.

So the sequence in Florida is: establish which programme the patient is in first — Statewide Medicaid Managed Care, or Florida Healthy Kids and CHIP — and only then pick the portal.

The address a biller would guess points at the real portal's machine

Typing the obvious thing in Florida produces a browser security warning, and the reason is narrower than it looks. On 10 September 2026 we looked up mymedicaid-florida.com and it resolved to 192.56.1.88 — the same address that portal.flmmis.com resolves to. Both names point at the same machine.

The state-by-state check recorded the rest of it on the same day: mymedicaid-florida.com resolves but did not complete an HTTPS connection, and the day before it returned a certificate whose name did not match the domain. That is consistent with what the addresses show — a name that arrives at the right machine, which does not present a certificate carrying that name.

For the front desk the practical consequence is the only part that matters. A browser security warning on mymedicaid-florida.com is not evidence that Florida Medicaid is down, and it is not evidence that anybody has hijacked anything. It means you typed a name the server does not carry a certificate for. Type portal.flmmis.com instead.

Where you actually log in

Every hostname above was put through a Domain Name System lookup on 10 September 2026 and returned an address. That is what we verified and the whole of it. We did not sign in to any of them, and we make no claim that any of these portals was reachable from your office network at any particular moment — several payer and state systems refuse traffic that does not come from an ordinary browser on an ordinary connection, so a failure at your desk is not something this page can speak to.

What to do

• Ask which programme the patient is in before you open anything. Statewide Medicaid Managed Care and Florida Healthy Kids are different doors.
• Keep portal.mcna.net in the bookmark bar. MCNA is current for Healthy Kids and CHIP, not a dead contract from before February 2025.
• Type portal.flmmis.com for the state system. If you land on a certificate warning, check the address bar for mymedicaid-florida.com before you conclude anything is wrong.
• Record the portal against the plan and programme in the practice management system, not against "Florida Medicaid" — a note filed under the state sends the next person to one of the other two logins.
