The portal is medicaid.dc.gov. DC Medicaid dental has run fee-for-service through Gainwell since 1 March 2026, with no dental benefit manager in between.
The District's own homepage points somewhere you should not go
This is the most serious case in our whole directory, and it is not hypothetical.
The DC Department of Health Care Finance homepage at dhcf.dc.gov still links providers to dc-medicaid.com. That domain was re-registered on 14 August 2026. When we followed the link on 10 September 2026 it redirected to an unrelated site serving an Indonesian online-gambling page. We re-checked the domain on the same date and it still resolves.
So a District dental office doing the obvious, careful thing — starting at the government's own site and clicking the provider link — ends up somewhere that has nothing to do with Medicaid. We are deliberately not linking it here.
The live portal is medicaid.dc.gov, which resolved normally the same day.

The check was a Domain Name System lookup on 10 September 2026: both hostnames returned an address. That is what we verified and the limit of it. We did not sign in, and we make no claim about whether the portal was reachable from any particular network.
What to do
- Reach the portal at medicaid.dc.gov from a bookmark, not from a link on the agency homepage.
- If any written procedure in your office says
dc-medicaid.com, delete it today. - Warn whoever handles DC claims. A domain that used to be official and now is not is the hardest kind to spot, because it passes the sniff test everyone was taught to apply.
- There is no benefit manager to route around — verify and bill the programme directly.
