The Kansas Medical Assistance Program (KMAP) portal is portal.kmap-state-ks.us, and for a KanCare member's dental it is not the end of the question. Kansas has no dental carve-out: each KanCare plan holds its own dental benefit. Two of the three routes are settled — Envolve at pwp.envolvedental.com for Sunflower, and SKYGEN at pwp.skygenusasystems.com for Healthy Blue. The third is not.
The UnitedHealthcare route is not established, and that is the honest answer
For the UnitedHealthcare KanCare plan, the public record does not settle who administers the dental benefit or where the office signs in. Not "probably DentaQuest", not "presumably in-house" — not established. Pattern-matching from another state is exactly how an office ends up with a credential for the wrong contract and an eligibility answer it should not trust.
So for that plan: ring the number on the back of the patient's card, ask which company administers the dental benefit, ask for the portal address, and write both down against the plan. That is a real gap in what is published, not a gap in your search technique.
Two of the three logins share a platform and are still not interchangeable
This is the Kansas trap, and DNS shows it plainly. On 10 September 2026:
- pwp.envolvedental.com resolves through
portal.envolvedental.comand then through a name insideskygenusasystems.com, ending at one address. - pwp.skygenusasystems.com resolves through
sgusa.skygenusasystems.comand a different name inside the same domain, ending at a different address.
Both chains run through SKYGEN's network. They are still two different hosts with two different addresses, assigned to two different plans. So "it's the SKYGEN system" is not an answer to "where do I log in" — an Envolve credential for Sunflower is not a SKYGEN credential for Healthy Blue, however alike the two sign-in pages look. The shared platform is what makes the mix-up so easy and so quiet.
What the DNS lookups actually showed
Every hostname was put through a Domain Name System lookup on 10 September 2026. That is what was verified and the whole of it. No sign-in was attempted, and there is no claim here that any of these sites was reachable from a particular office network — state portals commonly refuse traffic that does not look like an ordinary browser, so a failure from elsewhere says nothing about the portal.
One more result worth having: portal.kmap-state-ks.us and the bare kmap-state-ks.us resolve to the same single address, so both names point at one machine. Note also that the state's own portal here sits under .us, not .gov — in Kansas, "a state portal would be a .gov" is a rule of thumb that misfires.

What to do
- Identify the KanCare plan first, then its dental administrator, then the login. The state portal does not resolve a plan's dental for you.
- For UnitedHealthcare members, call the plan and record what they tell you. Do not assume the administrator another state uses.
- Keep the Envolve and SKYGEN credentials apart in whatever holds your logins. Same platform underneath, different plans, different addresses.
- Type
portal.kmap-state-ks.usin full and expect a.usaddress, so the unfamiliar ending does not send you looking for a.govthat is not there. - Record the administrator against the plan in your practice management system, never against "Kansas Medicaid" — every KanCare plan holds its own dental, so a note filed under the state sends the next person to the wrong login.
