How do I log in to the Arkansas Medicaid provider portal?

Arkansas ended dental managed care on 1 November 2024 and went back to fee-for-service through portal.mmis.arkansas.gov — while the old medicaid.state.ar.us has no DNS record and the similar armedicaid.com is a parked domain offered for sale.

The portal is portal.mmis.arkansas.gov. Arkansas Medicaid and ARKids First dental is fee-for-service, administered by Gainwell, with no dental benefit manager.

Dental managed care ended on 1 November 2024

Arkansas ran dental through managed care and stopped. Since 1 November 2024 the benefit has been fee-for-service again.

That matters if your written procedures, your practice management system notes, or the colleague who trained your front desk predate the change. Chasing a benefit manager that no longer holds the contract is the single most reliable way to lose an afternoon on an Arkansas claim, and the failure looks like a coverage problem rather than a routing one.

Two addresses that will waste your time

medicaid.state.ar.us has no DNS record. We checked on 10 September 2026 and it returns nothing — so an old bookmark fails with a browser error rather than redirecting anywhere useful.

armedicaid.com is a different problem. It resolves, so it does not fail. It is a parked domain offered for sale — not an Arkansas Medicaid service, and never was one you should be typing credentials into. A biller guessing the obvious short name lands there.

All three hostnames were put through a Domain Name System lookup on 10 September 2026. That is what we verified and the limit of it — we did not attempt to sign in.

What to do

  • Bookmark portal.mmis.arkansas.gov and reach it from the bookmark.
  • Delete medicaid.state.ar.us and armedicaid.com from any written procedure.
  • Record that Arkansas dental has been fee-for-service since 1 November 2024, so nobody re-derives it.
  • If an Arkansas claim denies oddly, check you are not still routing it to a benefit manager that lost the contract two years ago.

The state-by-state directory covers 48 states and the District of Columbia.

Portal addresses last re-checked 10 September 2026.
