Arizona has no single dental portal. AHCCCS subcontracts dental per health plan, so the card in the patient's hand decides where you verify. There is also a fee-for-service line that runs straight through AHCCCS itself.
The address most people still have is dead
azweb.statemedicaid.us is widely cited in billing material and in offices' own written procedures. It has no DNS record — we checked on 10 September 2026 and it returns nothing at all.
That failure mode is worse than a redirect. An address with no DNS record produces a browser error, which reads as "the portal is down" rather than "this address is retired". Offices lose a morning to it and some report an outage that is not happening.
The current address is ao.azahcccs.gov.

Four further AHCCCS Complete Care plans exist whose dental subcontractor we were not able to establish. They are absent from this table rather than guessed at, which is the same rule the directory follows for Alaska and Georgia. If your patient is on one of those, confirm with the plan rather than assuming it follows the pattern above.
All hostnames were put through a Domain Name System lookup on 10 September 2026. That is what we verified and the limit of it.
What to do
- Replace
azweb.statemedicaid.uswherever it appears in your written procedures with ao.azahcccs.gov. - Read the plan on the card before opening any portal.
- Treat "member not found" on the fee-for-service line as a routing question rather than a coverage answer.
- Where the plan is one of the four we could not establish, ring the plan. A guess here produces a denial weeks later.
